For Patients

Advanced Therapies, or “living drugs”, are reality already.
People are being cured of diseases that were previously considered incurable. But the implementation of Advanced Therapies into clinical practice and their wider accessibility as treatment options for patients is still a demanding task. Only few therapies have reached the market and only a small number of patients could benefit from them. BeCAT faces this challenge.
With patient-centered clinical research in compliance with the highest quality and ethical standards, BeCAT paves the way to bring these novel therapy concepts into the clinical practice.

You are here:

Patient-centered research

Patient-centered research is based on the identification of the best intervention for every individual patient.
However, though patient-centered research focuses on the patient, patients are not being treated here at BeCAT. Treatment is provided at clinics and centres specialised in treating the different diseases.
Hereafter you find links to the external website of numerous patient oranganizations and patient advocacy groups, especially for patients with chronic conditions, that provide information and support to patients and/or their families. Please contact these organizations/groups for answers to your questions. An added benefit of these institutions is their endeavour to foster the partnership between patients and researchers to conduct research that addresses patient´s needs. So that by contacting them, patients help other patients as well as researchers to set research priorities.
At the bottom of this page you also find links to external websites with information about Advanced Therapies in general and ATMP-based clinical trials.
